A 40-minute ferry ride takes you to this lush tropical island at the port of Sekupang. Several duty-free shops greet you at the ferry terminal, selling everything from European cognac to Sumatran woodcrafts at prices much lower than those in Singapore. Five minutes away is the domestic ferry terminal, where speedboats can take you to other Sumatran destinations. Sekupang Ferry Terminal is located on the north-western tip of Batam. It is approximately 35 mins by taxi to Nagoya or 15 mins to Waterfront City. Some hotels have mini buses available for pick-up / drop-off at the ferry terminal.
